:mad: :wall: :mad::mad::mad: :wall: ......:coffee:
Just got my 'reply' from HSBC. It didn't actually reply to anything but said they have never had any repayment plan from CCCS (they sent it in JUNE!!!) so will continue to only deal with me and add full interest and charges.
I'm thinking of switching to seperate dmps because this is my ONLY debt and I only work 1 day a week for minimum pay so they can whistle for my token payments in future. I don't see any point in paying them £140 a month (mostly DH's wages) for them to just absorb it in interest when DH could be paying off more co-operative creditors with it instead.
I wish there was a raspberry blowing smilie....
Sorry people, rant over, off for a cuppa and a home-baked choc chip bun0 -
I have a number of debts which are being handled very well by Payplan. I just have one question - in December I will have some extra cash - am I able to offer a full and final to one creditor only? I want to offer £300 to Wonga - will this effect the rest of my DMP?
Thanks
Still paying interest to HSBC who are the most unhelpful bank ever. Have been with them for 17 years and very unhappy with the "service" since I've been in difficulty.Total Debt: £0 [STRIKE]£33,043[/STRIKE]

Thank you Tigsmom yet again for your advice especially when you are having your own problems I really appreciate it - I had a very bad night last night panicing re money and how the heck we are going to manage especially next year when my moneies will go down due to my son leaving college adn family credit will be stopped I am going to be 300 down just hope that cccs will be able to keep me on their books if I have to lower my payments quite scary really - Does anyone know what happens when the DMP say you have to pay your priority bills first ie mortgage gas eleci etc that what happens if you dont have much left to offer creditors? Thats what is scaring me more than anything - I do want to pay the debt off even if it takes me the rest of my life but its the incretainty I cant handle0

Hi Win123 - When we started our DMP with CCCS we were only paying £50 a month to our debt as after mortgage etc there wasn't anything else to put toward it. That was split between 6 debts."Opportunity only knocks once.It doesnt knock, knock again, then leave a note asking you to give it a call back when you've got your s*** together".John Connolly0

Hi Win123. I think Stelly answered your question better than I could. You can't beat experience from someone whos been there.
The good thing about being on a dmp is that it does allow for changes in your circumstances. When your income reduces you can just let CCCS know and change your payments accordingly. Your creditors can do very little as long as they are getting something on a regular basis, even if it's just a small token payment. They cannot take what you haven't got (even though they may try and threaten you). Just think of them as big bullies and you are the one taking control and fighting back. What would happen if they did take you to court? The judge would look at your income and expenses, see that you are already paying them what you can afford and then throw the case out because they are wasting the courts time. So basically it's all just idle threats. If cccs think you really don't have a penny left for your creditors then they won't take you off their books they will offer a different solution such as bankruptcy. Try to take a deep breath every now and again and relax!0 -
By the way Stelly - I love your tagline!0

Thanks for the advice - Just wanted to bombarde anyone with another question now - how the heck do they expect you to leave a bank with a 200 overdraft when you are in the overdraft for a reason ie paying bills - How do people manage to get out of their overdraft - ie if we change banks how do we sort out direct debits etc and make sure the cash is there when you havent got it in the first place as my mum is in her overdraft - things are due differnt dates and her pension goes in every week then her dla goes in her bank middle of month so how do we manage the payments for her bills by direct debit - sorry if it sounds a daft quesion - she would rather stay with her current banks she owes them nothing only the 200 overdraft that we can sort out in a couple of months by paying extra in x HELP PSE I cant relax though I have had to go to the GP today and she has given something to help calm me down! Thanks again for the advice sorry if I am a pain0

We took most of them to the petshop and swapped them for another cage, gerbil food and bedding. Then we had 2 lots of gerbils, male and female cages who were kept apart
Please can I come back as a gerbil?!
It's free too

Right. As far as I can see you have two options with the bank/overdraft. First to defer the first dmp payment for 2-3 months and send a £1 token payment to each of your creditors. This is what I did. It meant that we could accumilate enough money to clear the overdraft. Overdrafts tend to be a bit of a pain on a dmp and banks can get funny about them. Your second option is to switch banks and add your overdraft to your debts. You would then have to switch direct debits etc. Double check first that your existing bank/new bank is not a spinoff from your creditors. Sometimes banks have different names but are in partnership with each other. If I were you I would defer for at least a month to get some money in the bank before the direct debits come out. You could contact those companies and ask to change the date of the direct debit to a more convenient one.
As for Bankruptcy I believe it should be only considered as a last option (CCCS can advise you on this). It is something I have thought about to get rid of HSBC. The house and car are in DH's name and I have no assets and a very low income. However I do work with cash and my employer may consider me a risk if I went bankrupt. There is a lot to consider. CCCS are the best people to help you. Have a think about all you want to ask them, write all the questions down and give them a call. They are really quite nice people who are there to help.:)0
