Project manager, I have an interview on Monday but even if I get that job I still need the DMP.
I am just feeling sorry for myself at the moment, I know I have to do the DMP and I know a job will turn up, it's just all a bit crap at the moment.0 -

Hi and welcome TStan :hello:
You have every right to feel sorry for yourself, we all have times like that.

Construction?
I work, i still need my DMP, as long as you are dealing with your issues there's something positive to be taken from that. pick your head up, deep breath, get some positivity and this new job with the DMP in place could give you the kick start you need.
Not a great place to be in, but we're all there with the debt.
Good luck for next week!Back in the game...0 -
Finally faced up to our mess yesterday, called cccs. Going to do us a dmp. She told me to cancel our dd's but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm scared. We have no choice really. Keep thinking what if we plod along as we are, be more careful with money etc... But have tried it do many times, always pay the loans with a struggle but overdrafts and cc are a nightmare! Feel very ashamed We have got our selfs into this, my parents would be devestated if they knew we owed 28k and have nothing to show for it. Shocks me to be honest. Feel like I've let my children down too - not that they know about it but just feel like a bad mum. Husband is worried about the dmp too. I'm scared of the calls etc.. Can anyone find out about this? Is it likely we will get a ccj? Scared everything will get taken away from me. Really need some reassurance please. Can they take our house? Or is that totally safe providing we pay our mortgage?
Hi,
Just wanted to offer my support, it is scary to begin with. We have had tremendous ups and downs over the last few years sincd our business went bump. There is loads of advice on the forums here. But please try and put things into perspective. A lot of posts on here are from people after advice for situations that are scaring them, there are also thousands of others that are getting along fine once they are on a DMP, but there is nothing for them to post.
We opted for a DMP and are into our second month, we owe a lot of money but the creditors like to know that you are taking charge of the situation. You need to pay the priority debts such as mortgage etc. But the others basically get whats left - they can't take what you havent got!
We get letters, but they are all computer generated and have been compiled by a team of advisors to try and scare you into doing something. Best bet - read them, then get a cuppa and read again, you will notice that they are all pretty standard.
My advice - speak to the CCCS, don't ignore any letters or phone calls. Once you are on a DMP things really calm down, its nothing to be ashamed of - you are taking control!Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -
Another day, another creditor statement. Back to full interest
I phone and speak to them, to be told I should not be phoning because they only communicate with CCCS.
"OK please just tell me why you have reapplied full interest",
"Because we only have a 6 monthly agreement with CCCS and they have not updated us as to your situation". :wall:
Why is CCCS help available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday for new clients but only from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday for existing clients? And why is the former free and the latter at a premium number?
I feel the need to ask this question on the CCCS ask a counsellor a question thread
If this latest interest charger is not sorted by the end of next week and the interest refunded, our DMP will be self serviced from 1st October. Morning Twin Sis
So sorry to hear about the interest. Don't give up, fight em, whist I havent had success with M&S (well not hopeful) I got a refund when BC took on my egg account.
I was told a simular thing re we will only speak to CCCS, I asked if that meant CCCS where liable rather than I?!!!!!
I would take CCCS to account on why they havent updated them. Did said preditor communicate with you re needing 6 month review. Perhaps they all need reminding its your debt and you need to be kept informed.
I will watch this space but in the interim have a huge hug from me.

This was one of the preditors who had never contacted us so we had no idea it was under a 6 month review, presumably only CCCS were privy to that information
The huge hug is well needed and greatly appreciated
