    Ouch :(

Sorry to hear that, I moan about our gas bill but that makes it look very reasonable

Aah thanks guys for the sympathy:o

OH is due a bit of overtime next month that we were planning to put by for the next MOT and if there was any left over was going to go towards Christmas. Hey ho fellow DMPers just another of life's little hurdles to jump over. Could be worse, at least I have a roof above my head and I won't starve:T

There are people that would be happy with the mention of 69 but I couldn't possibly comment further.

I will be here to celebrate the 68s with you. Can't wait.

    Morning

You are, of course, very welcome.

Is that a pink binary code in your signature?

There are 10 types of people on this forum, those who understand binary and those who don't :D

Am sure there is no need to guess which my smutty twin geek sister is :rotfl:

  • It's a progress bar. I saw the idea on someone else's sig and thought it was much less depressing than staring at actual numbers ;)

Each £1000 milestone will change a line on the bar a different colour (black, I'm thinking)

Also, I already flaunt my geek credentials in the top line of my sig ;)

I do love that binary joke :rotfl:

good morning all, i joined you a few months ago and then went away as my OH wasn't ready to let go of his credit and one of my debts was joint, i'm pleased to report that he is now onboard and today i have started this scary journey by cancelling my direct debits to 3 of my creditors and letters will be sent later today, in total we owe £31000 to 8 creditors, it will take us a while to get Debt free, but we will get there
LBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)

Just want to wish you luck in your journey, it is scary at first because you think you are taking on these big scary companies. But as long as you have the backing of one of the big charity debt companies they can't do anything.
My only bit of advice would be - talk to the companies and tell them what you are doing. Do this in your own time and when you have all the info in front of you, this way you are in control, they always seemed to ring when we were either eating, just got in or just busy. They catch you out this way. But by talking you do stop the endless calls.
Oh - by the way - it takes some getting used to not worrying about the debts every day!!!

So, got a crappy letter from Natwest on Friday about a business loan we have with them. They want immediate payment to bring the loan account up to date - all £500 of it!! I was a bit worried about this as its a small business loan and I didn't know if they dealt with this differently to normal personal loans. They asked for the business expenditure and turnover in the letter, but we closed our business down 3 years ago - which is why we are in this mess!!!
I called them and explained that we were with CCCS and that they had in fact received a payment that was only £5 under the original amount! They claimed they didnt know anything about it even though I could see it on the internet banking page! But the lady told me to write in again and state that CCCS were now looking after my affairs and they wouldn't trouble me again!
They say they haven't any record of the original CCCS letter, but they did say that as its a business loan the addresses are different to the personal account side.
So - another one down. Just need to talk to HSBC who are whacking on £110 in interest each month while CCCS are paying them just £31... I am not that worried - you can't get blood out of a stone eh?
Weather is looking good so - a day in the sun!
    Have a great day everyone!!!
