It's amazing how much happier we both are already and it's only been two weeks, we feel like we can finally see a future without debt.

    Hi Hunnies :hello:

Life is really different once you are up and running dealing with your debt. OH and I both agree we have never been happier and each month the debt free light at the end of the tunnel gets a bit brighter.

Well done and the very best of luck :T

I'm getting plagued with calls from HSBC and it's really getting me down now. They've rung at 8:30am and 8:45pm. We always screen our calls so just write down the number and time then check it later. It's different numbers but they're all HSBC. I've written to them twice asking them not to call but write or email instead because I have two young children and apart from the fact that it's difficult to speak to them I don't want my kids to overhear. They've just cashed the cheques sent with the letters and continued to call. As it's different numbers and I've had nothing in writing I don't know which department/number I should be dealing with. Does anyone have a contact number/address for the actual department that deals with DMP payments please? On a stress level of 1-10 they've put me around 9.9!

Thanks very much. I just wish we had done it ages ago before it consumed everything in our life, including our relationship. My fault. Its a little annoying as it only really started being a big problem 8 months ago when I changed my IT contract, and a few payments were late from my agency. Although we owe alot of money, we werent far off cracking it without the DMP, but unfortunately we couldnt sustain our mortgage payments, and credit card debts etc. Actually the worst thing of all is the Welcome Finance secured loan which we have been paying £410 to each month, only for the balance to never decrease in 5 years. Nasty sharks Welcome F are. Plus misold PPI

Are you on a DMP already? If so you should give them your reference number with Payplan/CCCS, and the phone number?

It starts Sept 1st. I've already written to them twice quoting CCCS DMP number, but still they call....
  • Morning Twin Geek :D

Haven't had all monthly statements in yet but we are already over £200 interest for the month and am panic stricken about M&S threat to re-add interest to CC as well as loan :(

Spoke to CCCS about M&S letter saying they would stop interest if CCCS would drop payments to them. CCCS replied that it's nonsense from M&S and they can't/won't do it so are awaiting FOS decision on both M&S and NatWest :o

If M&S reapply interest to CC or any other creditor decides to reintroduce charges, we are coming out of CCCS DMP and going self managed, then M&S can have as little as they want and everyone else can have more

Brave words, I am considering the same so you may have good company.

    Fingers crossed for us both.

In the interim, the lottery dream :)

In my case, every year I have done a fresh SOA for Payplan, who then suggest upping my monthly payments, they then send my new SOA to my creditors.

My creditors have always acceppted my new SOA, with increased monthly payments.

I now have 4 months left on my DMP .

    Well done, almost there

    What's the plan for after?

Phone CCCS and tell them this is happening and they should recommend what to do next? Payplan told me that you can tell a harrassing bank/creditor in the nicest of terms to stop calling you or you will record the calls and submit them to the Ofcom body, but I would check with CCCS what you should do. Let us know how you get on?
