Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking for the last couple of weeks and now I've read the whole thread I thought I should introduce myself and start postingRunForYourMoney wrote: »my Wife and I have just started out DMP today.
Hello Hunnies and RunForYourMoney. Welcome to the DMP mutual support thread:)I'm getting plagued with calls from HSBC and it's really getting me down now. On a stress level of 1-10 they've put me around 9.9!
Sorry to hear this Tigsmom. As other people have said previously several different departments seem to deal with people who enter into a DMP and they don't seem to talk to one another either. Some more cynical people would say they do it on purpose just to get you to cough up more cash. Not sure what to suggest really that hasn't already been said, and you have already written to them. I guess just keep ploughing on (you are just at the start) and eventually things will settle downDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Unforunately it wont stop our marriage ceasing but at least we can in not too distance future has some hope that debt wont again alter our lives?
Let us know how you get on
Thanks RFYM, I'm sorry to hear about your relationship. Hopefully starting these DMP's is a positive step for all of us and will lead to a much brighter future. I'm already looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter!Hi Hunnies,
Welcome and well done for getting this far. Our DMP starts on 1st September too but it has taken longer for us to get as organised as you! Our LBM was at the end of June. Our tax credits were also withdrawn in April and having hung on by the skin of our teeth for several years that was the final straw. We are still waiting to hear from some of our creditors but CCCS has written to them so I think the letters will soon start filtering through. Our total debt is around £19k and we know that (as long as we continue in our current employment) our financies will improve in a couple of years so we should be able to overpay a bit then. We were hoping to manage until then without the DMP but were fighting a losing battle. You sound very clued up and positive. I hope that maybe some of my posts have helped. You will get lots of help on here if you ask even if it's just a pick-me-up. It's just good to know that you are not alone isn't it? Good luck.
Thanks for the welcome and well done to you for starting your DMP. Your background is the same as mine although we owe double what you do but never mind, we'll get there eventually.
Yes, your posts have definitely helped us as you were asking all the questions I was thinking so thank you!
Seems like you, me and Run For Your Money are all at the same stage so it will be great to see how we're all getting on and support each other.Time_to_face_the_music wrote: »Hi Hunnies :hello:
Life is really different once you are up and running dealing with your debt. OH and I both agree we have never been happier and each month the debt free light at the end of the tunnel gets a bit brighter.
Well done and the very best of luck :T
Thank you, we're so lucky that this problem has brought us closer together.
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. x0 -
Afternoon, welcome to all the new people, well done for taking the first step!I'm getting plagued with calls from HSBC and it's really getting me down now. They've rung at 8:30am and 8:45pm. We always screen our calls so just write down the number and time then check it later. It's different numbers but they're all HSBC. I've written to them twice asking them not to call but write or email instead because I have two young children and apart from the fact that it's difficult to speak to them I don't want my kids to overhear. They've just cashed the cheques sent with the letters and continued to call. As it's different numbers and I've had nothing in writing I don't know which department/number I should be dealing with. Does anyone have a contact number/address for the actual department that deals with DMP payments please? On a stress level of 1-10 they've put me around 9.9!
I'd call customer services and tell them it's harassment, have a look at this page and read Myth number 3 as the guidelines have changed. I'd be tempted to not even call and go straight to the ombudsman.LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -

the only one I'm worried about is MBNA, I've heard they can be a right pain in the a**
We were with a fee paying company and MBNA were the ones that recommended we move to wither CCCS or Payplan and explained it all to me. We moved to Payplan and they wanted about £4 a month more than we were paying at the time, they'd been so nice to us that I set up a dd and paid it. They wrote and said thank you - odd really:rotfl:Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0 -

MBNA have been fantastic with us too. They reduced the interest to almost nothing immediately and now they send us letters telling us how well we are doing with our payment plan. Very odd I agree .... but nice :rotfl:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Ok after my positive post earlier I'm having a bit of a panic. Our main debts are with Lloyds and in the initial stages of conversations with CCCS when they advised about moving our bank account to another bank where we don't have any debts I mentioned my DH business account that he has with Lloyds. I was told it wasn't necessary to move that account as its a business account and they can't take money from it like they could have done with our current account. The account is in his company's name and the registered address is his business partners address.
I got a letter from Lloyds today to say they were aware that we had cancelled our direct debit for DH loan and please could we reinstate it by sending new d/d forms. Obviously we won't be doing this but I'm concerned that at the bottom of the letter it says that if a d/d is not in place they can retrieve the amount due from our current or savings accounts.
Could they take it from his business account???0 -

I think that's a standard computer generated letter. I got a similar one from HSBC when I only sent a token payment for my cc. I don't think they can touch the business account especially if there's a 3rd party involved. I panicked about my daughters trust fund but apparently that is hers even though she's only 6 and I'm responsable tor her account.0 -
