    Hi All
Im back and in a better mood than last week :)

Got my Npower bill through and im £423 in credit so I rang and should have it all back by the 23rd :j

I wont have a penny of it for nice stuff but it will be a MASSIVE help for next month as my first DMP payment goes out on the 26th Jan. Then some of it will be going straight in to the savings pot so I never get stuck in this situation again when I haven't got a penny to my name.

Had my call with Payplan today and everything is nearly sorted :T finally feel like I can breath again.

    xx

Thanks very much Amy. Our account is opened with the Co-Op but we are waiting for all the paperwork to come through and am just trying to get as much stuff done in advance as we can, so as soon as we have the account number, we can send off everything to CCCS.

As soon as we have everything, I will call and ask them about helping us change it all over :)

We moved from Halifax to Co-operative, the co-op had a department which handled all direct debits. All we had to do was sort out our pay departments.

Today we got a letter from CCCS saying that our old bank wouldn;t agree to the DMP due to 'recent customer spending'. The account hasn't been used by us since 8th Dec. The only movement on the account since then have been the bank chargin us fees.
    Any ideas?
The CCCS say not to worry about it, but you know me :(

CCCS are right. With a DMP it is not necessary to have all creditors agreeing. I suspect a ploy to try and get more money out of you. Sit tight, stay calm and carry on.

    That's a nice little bonus!!!

Don't forget to ask them to amend your monthly DD as by the sounds if it you could save quite a bit each month too!

Fingers crossed, touching wood and what other superstitions you can think of.............

So far it hasn't been to bad for us at all! Letters have stopped, phonecalls stopped, all creditors now accepted even though our first payment was only at the beginning of this month.

Mixed response on interest. Two barclaycard statements have turned up with no interest. Halifax has reduced our interest to 14%. So halved. Lloyds have said they were reducing interest but the statement turned up with normal interest which is in excess of our payment. So am challenging that!! Lloyds loan said a big fat no to reducing or freezing interest - but think it's only 6.9% anyway.

Payplan have been helpful - although I get the impression I'm going to have to do plenty of work myself to challenge interest.

On a budgetary front it's been nice to have money this month to buy school shoes and trousers for the eldest. I never realised how bad it had got and how much we were going without essentials! I'm now even able to build a safety net fund up at £50 a week.

Well done on taking the plunge.

I think all it is is that they sent the offer within 30 days of you using the account. If they resubmit I'm sure it'll be fine.

Not that it matters anyway, you can only pay what you can afford!

  • Hi everyone,

About a week and half ago I sent token payments in postal order of £10 each to all my creditors who are due payments this month. My DMP first payment from CCCS is Feb 1st. I also mentioned to my creditors about the DMP situation.

I haven't heard back from any creditor nor have the postal orders been cashed or credited to my accounts.

How long do you think I have to wait? Hoping it's not a waste of my cash to send them token payments!

    Thanks,
    Typhoo

I sent off 9 letters, each with a token payment. Not a single creditor responded to my letter. But all the payments were processed. Bad customer relations in my book - but I suppose they don't care much about us anymore!
