I've seen a few posts about getting free (or very cheap) iPhones from offers on the site.
Free would be good of course, but we can't afford a contract. We're both on PAYG and always have been. My handset is *coughs* years old :-(Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Reading the Mobile section of the site, we went with Mobiles .co .uk .. seems they are a subsiduary of CarPhone Warehouse .. but undercut almost all of CPW's deals!.
check out th elink on the main MSE homepage titled "cheapest iphone deals"

I keep a spreadsheet so I have all actual balances on. Have to admit I am rather fixated with it. I have lot of colours for milestones and there is usually something to celebrate each month (going down a thousand digit or paid back 20% or been on the plan 12 months etc). If I am having a bad day I think this is it now, this is what it will be on my 2 year anniversary, this by the end of the year, I will be free in 2014 etc. For me it is an enormous incentive.

Now I REALLY like this idea!!! Lots of mini goals!!
Am currently dieting and applying the mini goal technique. Find it's keeping me really focused and I love going into the task list on my phone to tick them off. When I weight in tomorrow i'll be hopefully ticking off my 4.5 stone lost. So I figure this method works!! I know what'll be doing this evening.........mini goals!SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

Hi
I just started out on a DMP with Payplan, who have so far been fantastic. (total debt is £29,500) I feel like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders, after years of trying to deal with all the letters & phone calls myself.
This Forum is a Godsend, I just wish I had heard of Payplan before I tried a DMP with a company called Ashley Park. They are a complete and utter disgrace. They took £1,300 (more than I agreed) and did NO work with my creditors at all. They now refuse to return the money, which made me go even further into debt.
Thanks folks for all the good advice and support on here.0 -

Welcome!
I'm only a month in so pretty new to all of this too. But also feel a weight has been lifted. Am also financial better off on a day to day basis as I'm paying what we can afford. Not trying to pay everything and starve!SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293
