Galaxy S2 Issue!! HELPPPPPP

Hi folks.

Sorry if this has been posted already, I couldn't see anything.
I've had my Galaxy S2 approximately 6 months and I love the phone - really glad I chose it over the iPhone 4S. Everything has worked marvellously until I recently upgraded to Android 3.4.

Now all of a sudden - when in call - the other side can't hear me unless I put them on speaker phone. It's like the in call mic isn't working. I've done nothing to my phone that could of damaged the mic - I look after my phones!

It's really annoying if you get an important phone call at work and have to put it on speaker phone so they can hear you. I was just wondering if anybody has had this problem and what they did to resolve it? I e-mailed Samsung a week ago and no reply!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.

Have you tried reinstalling the firmware/update?

I'd recommend an app such as MyBackup to backup your data/texts/media/etc (and upload it to their server, otherwise it saves on the phone because it has internal memory - you can change it but, i cant remember how off the top of my head and would recommend backing up to their servers to be extra cautious).

Then use Samsung KIES on the computer I believe to reinstall the firmware. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest it's a hardware fault rather than software and just a coincidence that it happened after updating.

Just to clarify though, do you mean Android 2.3.4? Rather than 3.4? I also assume it's an official Samsung/Android update, rather than custom firmware/ROM?

Hi qubic - thanks for the reply.
Sorry - yes I meant 2.3.4 android update.
I get a bit scared of re-installing the firmware update as I don't want to lose any apps or media I have or have purchased. It was a legitimate update yes, I didn't even do it via Kies, I did it via my phone in the settings/about my phone menu.. Would you advise re-installing the firmware?
I just find it really odd that it can just randomly stop on me when the speaker phone is fine :(

I've had my Galaxy 2 months, and it's started freezing today and opening up apps and voice control all over the place. I've factory restored it and reinstalled the firmware, and now can't restore my contacts from back up  and it's still freezing. Any idea what will happen if I take it back to Orange? I'm due a baby in less than 4 weeks and really need my phone to be working at the moment. When Orange sent my OH's SE off, they had it 5 weeks!

Can you start your own post with your query please?
I'm sorry to hear about your problem but you will get more response on your own post? :(

Don't really want to start a whole thread about what Orange will do. I'm taking it back tomorrow anyway, so it doesn't matter :)

That's what I hate about having to reinstall but, MyBackup pro is great, hasn't let me down (except the time i backed up to the internal memory but, that was my fault for not checking and fortunately it was a tablet which i'd only had a week or so, so not too much stuff to worry about).

Mybackup remembers apps you had and installs them, unfortunately doesn't sync with market links so on the market it looks like you havent installed them. I don't actually use the app now for that as you can go to market.android.com and see all the apps you've downloaded and have them install onto your phone remotely :D.

I'd get your stuff backed up and either do a factory reset and see if that fixes it and if it doesn't before you put anything back on the phone, use KIES to reinstall the software.

Standard practice is to backup your data and from the phones settings carry out a factory restore .
