Possible Acceptance by Vanquis

I applied for a Vanquis card around 2 - 3 weeks ago and i haven't had any information as on such whether or not i've been successfully.

In that space of time, i have phoned up around 3 times and they have told me that my application is still processing/under review and i should get a phone call or a letter which will tell me if i have been successful or not.

My question is - Has anyone applied and been in a similar situation? If so, what was the outcome?

thanks!

  • When i called them about my application i was told i had been declined then 2 days later got a call to say i had been accepted:rotfl:Waited almost 10 weeks from the time i applied for the card to actually getting it too!

Vanquis have just launched a new card with a £100 limit for anyone that fails the Vanquis criteria so the delay might be due to the fact they are going to decline your Vanquis card but offer you the £100 limit card possibly?

  • I applied and got a phone call the next day to say I'd been accepted but it depends how busy they have been over Christmas?

They gave me one and I'm not working and have a default on my credit file so they do give them to anyone :)

Capital one gave me one too :)

But if they are busy it can take time but they could be deciding yes or no with you?
I'm not poor i'm just skint
  • Hmm, intresting, yea it could be because it was Christmas and that ect. I'll phone them up again tomorrow!

They might also be sending you out a letter asking for additional ID - Bank statement, passport etc, which takes time it seems when it comes to Vanquis! They then decide the outcome of your application when they get the requested ID

Your right. Just phoned up today, and they said they needed some ID sent to them, so i gave them my Driver's Licence number over the phone.

Hopefully that speeds up the process. Has anyone, gone through something similar to this, and if so, did you get accepted for it?

I just have a slight feeling, that i MIGHT get accepted! :rotfl: :T
  • A driving licence number means nothing to them, they arn't the DVLA.

They need to see the actual licence to comfirm you are who you say you are, usually Picture I.D such as Driving Licence, Password etc. or a letter from the DWP

Hmm, well they must can verify you, as the lady wouldn't of asked me for my driving licence number.
  • Banks can and do only use either the Passport number or Driving Licence number with the electronic checking system. For certain transactions the actual documentation may be needed. To apply for cards and loans they can just use the electronic system.

The regular Vanquis card offers limits from £100 and has done for quite some time.

I applied for the card via topcash just for the cashback, just got off the phone to cancel them I told them that their APR was a joke.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
