If you were my employer, would you see this as taking the !!!!?

As other have said, you are entitled to your holidays - but this must be agreed by the employer.
Why would you book 2 holidays without first confirming your holidays ?
I would just put in a holiday request form as normal and see what happens.
At that stage I would not necessarily mention the pre-booked holidays as this shows a disregard for company procedures and also your work colleagues - if they are agreed then fine, if (say) one is not agreed, then just go back and ask for special permission as your partner (or whoever) has booked a surprise holiday.0 -
Put in the application and see. I don't think employers look at holiday the way you are worrying about - you are entitled to your holidays, and as long as you are keeping within the rules of their scheme (for example we say that you can't have more than 10 days leave in any rolling 30 day period, so no 2 week holidays, back for a few days, and then off again!) and it doesn't clash with other people's leave in a way that the business can't manage, no problem. In fact I'd love it if our employees planned ahead like this. What gets up our nose is the constant last minute requests that we can't plan around and the fact that last year we had practically everyone wanting the week before Christmas off because they had leave to use up, despite constant reminders for a few months to get it sorted out. So then we had to say no to some people and they weren't happy. But it was their fault for leaving it too late.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -

It is not possible to come to this conclusion based on the limited information given.
We do not know the employers procedures for booking holidays, the type of business (eg. seasonal ?), whether a colleague has to provide cover for the OP (we do not know if the person required to cover has already booked these weeks) etc.
A lot of people believe that they have a "right" to take their holidays as and when they want to, but this is not the case.0 -

depends when I get some printer ink (ordered it) going to send my letters off first class post. I have requested dates.
My school did them in may. If I get am answer before the march rota I can probably skip the march holiday and have them in june. I can't do the exams between 25-28 may as I have an already booked holiday.0 -
Can you choose when to take your GCSEs? I thought the dates were set by the examination boards. If you are correct, and you were to take the same exam, eg Maths, as your mate down the road, but he took his in May and you took yours in June, then he could tell you the questions!0

since when could you pick and choose your exams dates? they are set so no one can have an advantage over anyone else, so you cannot take them on different datesBirthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

I am writing to 7 - 8 different colleges. All colleges have simlair but slightly different dates. I am going to try and sit them outside these days.
If not I will just have to forget the GCSE's until next year. .0 -
As an employer I have no problem with my employees booking their whole years entitlement at the start of the year , in fact I would prefer it as we could plan work around it . We do stipulate that only so many employees can be off at the same time , and we some times have certain dates that cannot be booked ( depending when Easter falls )Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

no colleges do the same exams on different days. the exams are sent out on securicor vans, or whatever the name is, and are picked up that afternoon. the packets cannot even be opened 10 mins before the exam starts, that's how secure they have to be.Birthdays are good for you.
