Grant of Probate - both parents pass away within 2 weeks of each other

    I fear that even if the wills have a survivorship clause you will need to do probate for both estates - the difference being that with a clause you will inherit your father's assets direct, without one you will inherit them via your mother's estate.

    In either event it should be possible to do it in a combined operation - it's just a question of what figures go where.

    As others have said the Probate Office will give you good advice - a solicitor will try to blind you with how complicated it is (it isn't really) to try and get the work.
