Favorites in IE7, how to change order?

Hi, I have just about got my head around IE7 but one thing bugs me and I can't figure it out.

I would like to change the order of my favorites list, move some from the bottom to nearer the top.

In IE6 you simply clicked and dragged but this seems to have no effect in IE7.

This must be a simple procedure but I am, as my name suggests, STUMPT!

Help appreciated.

Hi, stumpt,

just tried it out myself, and can move them no bother, either right clicking or left clicking, also you can right click and sort by name.

Have another go.

Doesn't particularly solve your problem but I have IE7 and just tried - it's still "drag and drop".

Darn, it must just be me then!!!

When I try to click and drag, I get a blue faded image of the favorite and then when I let go, it pops back to it's previous location.

When you are dragging you will see either a circle with a line through it or a solid line appear, release the mouse when the solid line is at the position you want the favorite.
You could also go to the add favorite menu and click on organise favorites.

If you click on 'Favourites' in the Menu Bar and the 'Organize Favourites,' can you move them around in there?

It's a bit strange, as I don't get the black line, just the faint outline of the favorite I am dragging and then it spring back to where it started.

Now I've !!!!!!ed it up as I've tried to arrange in order so now I can't get them back to chronological order - oops!

Your second suggestion works though, doing it in "organise favorites" which is great but very slow as the box is so small.

Need to spring clean desperately!!!!

Hi, again Stumpt,

I used to have the same problem, with folder, link just springing back, think it's just finding the right release point.

You should still be able to 'sort by name ' by right clicking.

Keep at it, don't let it win.

I sometimes find that if you click and hold on the link you want to move, then move the mouse slightly left or right (still holding down the mouse button), then the mouse pointer changes to a 'forbidden' sign, then try dragging and dropping in the required position.

Move your mouse over the botton right hand corner of the organise favorites box.
It will change to a 45% double headed arrow, click on the mouse and drag the box out as big as you like.
