A I only get interested in mobile phones when it is the time to change it os I am currently pretty outdated as I've bought my last one about 3 years ago, so looking for advice.
Need some smartphone with a good battery life, good photo camera, loud speaker and ability to vibrate and ring at the same time(which was not the case on Samsung phones before which firs vibrated than rang). My maximum budget is probably £500 but would obviously prefer cheaper

To my knowledge no smartphone has a really good battery life. Sometimes your cheaper to go with a contract than buying outright as you need a data bolt on, would this be an option to you? If so how many mins text do you use per month?
Anyway the best deal I've seen on a top smartphone is this?

Would consider a contract but at the moment need to chose which phone to go for before deciding to go for a contract or just buy a phone on it's own0 -
Did not realize that the majority of people don't like their phones as no one suggesting anything0

From research I have done Samsung phones seem to be popular with people who do not want an iphone.0

If you want to burn your £500 chose between iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S2 and Nokia Lumia (probably HTC Sensation XL or XE as well).
All of them have been discussed and compared so many times here that there is no point in starting yet another contest.
The most recent one with further links inside: Iphone 4S not impressed, other options?0 -
Firstly, ask yourself if you want a touchscreen or not. I know touchscreens are probably the future but I still don't get on well with an entirely touchscreen phone and use a physical keyboard. As for smartphones, you basically have a choice of Android, iphone, Blackberry, Symbian (Nokia), or Windows phone. I would probably go for Android due to the wealth of apps available. The latter two are poor in terms of apps and functionality. I'd suggest a Samsung Nexus S (Yes expensive, but guaranteed updates), HTC Desire S, or Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (with QWERTY keyboard).0

The best thing you can do is visit a shop and have a look at some phones working, see how you like the graphics, check how easy it is to get to texts, internet, whatever you're likely to use a lot.
You could even search the forum for yourself, as has been said, there are always threads about which phone to get. There will always be people that like one OS over another, it's down to personal choice and only you know what you would like.
My preference is for Android but that's because I've never used a different smartphone OS, I'm perfectly happy with it and can't see me changing in the near future.
I have never had £500 to spend on a phone in one go - and probably never will and as such have never looked at the high spec phones, I'm sure they sing and dance to better tunes than mine but hey ho.
If you want me to suggest my phone - because I do like it, a lot - I will - it's the San Francisco. Enjoy your search, and your phone when you choose one0
