We've been having our answers stolen off here peeps. Well I've found one instance of it anyway. On 26/2 dribsndrabs thanked me here for the Junior puzzles answers and then went and posted them on Loquax passing them off as having seen them at a friends'. I guess that's the trouble with it being an open forum. I wouldn't mind any Loquat to come here and get the answers from my post themselves but filching them like that seems pretty low.

I have just had a discussion with Strepsy about the Loquax issue. I suggested it would be a good idea for her (and other posters on this thread) to put a link to this thread on Loquax. If you are going to add an update put a note on Loquax just before you do and say they will be updated in ten minutes. That will hopefully mean that no-one can copy them over as their own as soon as you post them. Or if you prefer, simply post them on Loquax just as you post on here.

I have posted the same comp on here and on Loquax today. It just seemed easier to do it that way. I use both sites (this one much more though!) and it ony seems fair to give something back to both of them.

Cool sounds good! I couldn't check who posted the lonely planet one on loquax cause am having trouble getting on the site - except for the home page :)
  • The lonely planet namibia guide with unknown closing date has been added to their site today as well
The only comp I can find for this was added at 12.55pm on 2nd March... and it was updated because we have BBC Wildlife Magazine in our database - and we've checked and updated a few sites the last few days :)

I don't know if all contributors are going to want to do this, it will mean them all joining Loquax which some may not want to do. I'll go along with what people on here want. There's so many people on Loquax too, it will seriously lower the win potential of our little group. Loquax keep some of their stuff private to help keep the odds down after all, it's a shame we can't make this private really.

Strepsy - I am sorry that you assumed the worst of me.

Here's what I replied on Loquax:
Excuse me but NO I did not lie. My friend had a copy which I got the details of. I thanked your post on MSE because it verified that my answers were correct and I use the thank mechanism to keep track of what I have/haven't entered when skimming through that thread on MSE. As Jason's post has highlighted, we are not to copy other people's posts from other forums and you will find that I have NEVER posted any of the posts from MSE on here.

I fully appreciate the answers the effort that fellow MSErs put in to posting the answers here. It is very kind and I can personally say that I haven't/wouldn't copy/paste answers here to another forum...it is an unacceptable practice on Loquax.

Hmm tricky one, personally I don't use Loquax as I can never navigate past the home page without it coming up "This page cannot be displayed" so I just don't bother anymore, am I missing loads of comps by not perservering? I'm a member of other forums and noticed if someone posts something they found on MSE they usually give them the credit which is as it should be

I did have the answers in-hand though. In hindsight, crediting Strepsy, as she posted the answers too, would have been polite and avoided this assumption. You live and learn though.
