Cars parking in front of our garage! Help!
Anyone know any good Towing companies? We have a garage which is on shared private land with other garages which our owned by other members of our street, sadly people think its ok to park in front of our garage and block us even after having the police out and asking AGAIN and AGAIN! We have just been blocked in for an hour! A little birdy told me Towing is the way forward and easy money for a Towing company as in 1 week we have been blocked by 7 different cars! Any help would be fab!!

Have you tried blocking them in? or just buy your own clamp and clamp them.0

Why so underhand? why not speak to the people doing it?
This is why this country is falling over, neighbours are too afraid to speak to each other these days....
If that fails, buy a "no parking" sign and stick it to your garage.
Here's a good one
^^^ Looks like "Police Notice" at first glance
If that fails, put a damn road cone in the space (I only have an objection to this when people do it in a public road).
There's a guy at work who sits there whining all day about people parking in our parking bays, it's "wheel clamps" this and "tow trucks" that, but just as easily solved by telling the people not to park there.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Write really nasty notes and leave them on their car. That'll definately help.0

Strider590 Thank you for your advise and link, and to all as well. Please do know that I have spoken to all who have parked there, when I first moved in I went to the people who were parking there a lot and advised them that I would be using it and asked politely not to park there again to which they said fine but yet carried on. We contacted the police regarding it as someone we didn't know parked there and they advised us that they would call people and ask them to move or would come out and hand them a fine.
This was done when one of the people who kept parking there came out in his size 10's and threatened both me and my partner while holding our baby son, no fine was given just a slapped hand and "don't do it again". They have since parked there again even after we asked them to not do it!
It was on looking up on the Net that we saw about Towing.......
We know legally we can move them as they are on our land but we don't want it to get to that or have the Police out again or have to ask! Which we shouldn't have to ask to use our own garage!:A If i was a rich girl....... :A0 -
Put in some metal removable posts.0

Assuming you hold a SIA licence. If you don't then you'll be taking a trip to the local police station with some nice shiny metal around both wrists.
Deterrents are the way forward.
Cones and bollards usually do the trick. Drivers HATE getting out and moving cones so just put those there and hope for the best. Failing that, see if you can install some bollards that can be lowered into the ground.0 -
So really this is one set of neighbours who think they have the right to park there because "they've always done it"
Here's the problem, someone has let them get away with it and now they think they can do what they like.
Keep your car outside the garage for a while, they'll be forced to find somewhere else to park, realise it's less hassle and hopefully stop being so childish.
Failing that........ Go wake them up at 4am to move their car.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

From an earlier post in NI forum...Ah, fond memories of my favourite news stories covered by the Spectator (or indeed any publication) in recent years...
'They smeared dog poo on my
windscreen says motorist'
and the following week...
'They smeared dog poo on my
windscreen too says motorist'
:rotfl:
In both stories commuters parking near Bangor West train station complained that... well I think by now you'll have guessed what they complained. A harsh response from residents fed up with people parking outside their houses on 'their' (public) streets!
Don't recommend you try this!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
