Orange upgrade and selling the phone, advice please.

Orange contract up in 2 months.
Plan to go for Samsung Galaxy S2 and the best number of mins, text and internet I can squeeze them for. ( Need to keep Orange for Magic number for GF)

Will sell Samsung on ebay and buy Motorola Defy Plus ( just right for work).

This is the bit I need help with....
Is it just as easy as swapping my sim from my current old phone into the Defy on the right date and away we go - seems too easy - or have I missed something.

Thanks in advance for the help, Bob

They'll send you a new sim with the new phone. Let them activate the new sim and then put that in whichever phone you like. (don't forget to backup you old sim card first as it'll stop working once the new one starts up).

  • Thanks for the replies.
Reckon I can get £270+ for the Samsung on ebay, the Defy + should be just over £200.

    Fingers crossed.
    Thanks again, Bob
  • I have a similar problem.

I have been upgraded to a new iphone as my contract was up for renewal. I don't really want it, and was going to give it to my daughter.

I planned to carry on using my old Sony, but the new simcard doesn't fit my old phone as it's much smaller.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Presuming your new SIM is a microsim....

whats the benefits of the defy over the galaxy for work?
you know you can get the Defy as an upgrade from resellers?

    eg: http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Motorola/Motorola-DEFY/12,57605,All,tt3,ct1
  • Thanks custardy,

    Need a sturdier phone.
Think the Defy Plus is a little bit smaller and tougher than the S2.
Works for me, plus I might make a profit !
