  • Hi thanks for the tips, not a great lover of woolies stuff, do they ever grow, and lidl is currently being built, wont be open for a long time yet, I actually bought two trees, (haven't come yet) from spaldings my favourite supplier, 5 year guarantee, a cherry and a princess tree, apparently this tree has blue flowers on it, so that should be worth a look, and I wanted these to block the view which I'm sure they will in time to come, and other 2 I got from woolies I am actually going to give to a friend for her 54th birthday, so she can put the silver birch at the bottom of the garden, and the weeping cherry in the centre at the end of a path, and yes I have put them in water, and have told my friend to stand them in water when she gets them and to leave them for 24 hours to settle as they now have to travel 21 miles to her house, then if its not frosty to plant them and put mulch on the top to keep the roots warm. and you never know they might just be ok. the 2 from spaldings I am going to have to put in pots for about 6 months as re-designing the back garden this year, from a blank canvas. disabled friendly so 4 corner raised beds, and a summer house at the very back in between two raised corner beds, the trees will go in 2 raised beds in the center side by side with some room to move in between and the floor will be paved with some decking, lots of ornaments and trellis, where you can sit and enjoy the garden from different angles,

You would have to get pot grown ones this time of year, too late to plant bare rooted ones really

Pot grown is of course dearer

As blossom time is nearly over anyway why not start looking around ready to order for Autumn / winter delivery?

We had a cherry blossom in our old house, quite spectacular. But have you seen standard apple and pear bushes in full bloom, really beautiful............... and you get to eat the stuff from it later.
