£3.86 for lavazza coffee at asda, or £2.99 for it everywhere else!

It is currently on offer at 2 for £5.00, though.

But I accept that some may not have the extra £2.00 to spare, especially after last Wednesday.

  • Last week Hartley's sugar-free jelly had rocketed from 39p to 59p. All except the Raspberry flavour on which the label said Roll-back 39p!!!! To my way of thinking that isn't Roll-back, it's staying the same price!! I look forward to seeing how much they will be charging this week! (Maybe I will have a sneak preview on MySupermarket to spoil the surprise!)

Their own fruit and barley squash has always been about 65p but when I went yesterday its currently on rollback at that price and supposedly usually 90 summat pence.
I accept that prices will rise and I'm not bothered about that, what I am bothered about is the sneaky way Asda do it, saying that it's on rollback or putting the price up way higher than the rrp during offers.

    hi all,

Previously Hawksridge cider in asda was £1.53 altho it has steadily increased price for some months now, however since cheap cider has appeared in the news it has all of a sudden had a 47 pence price increase and now stands at £2.00 a bottle!!!!!?????

this is over a 30% price increase.

This type of cheap supermarket cider is usually around £1.50 and tescos similar cider in this range is currently £1.74.

I have sent a complaint to asda with my concern about the price hike but im guessing it will of course be a load of rubbish to suit themselves.

I just thought id make people aware of this shocking thing.
i am still buying the cider because it is the best out of all the ciders i have tried.

Has anybody else noticed the price cheeky increase?

Doesn't look like you'll get much cheaper elsewhere either unless ASDA do a 2 for 1 offer or something similar. Hawksridge appears only to be sold in ASDA as well.

Other alternatives are Aldi's Orchard Hills Original Apple Cider 99p for 568mls (17p/100ml) and Aldi's Taurus Strong Dry Cider £2.49 for 4 x 500ml (12p/100ml) or 2L for £1.99 (9.95p/100ml) though don't appear to be much cheaper.

How many units per bottle? It is a favourite with us binge drinking and pasty eating pensioners.

Hawksridge Cider is 8.4 UK Units.

so if or when that comes into effect cider will be £2.00 + 40p per unit = £5.36 or according to the magical news it would be around £4.00 however makes no sense and is still a ripoff.

    8.4 units x 40p per unit = £3.36 minimum price.

I'll just have to switch to Tesco Value at £1.74 and tough it out until ASDA realise they've still got loads of Hawksridge left on the shelves.

    Sainsbury's Basics 2L is £1.89.

If it's a seasonal thing, it's badly timed.
