1 mile an hour over speed limit

If it was a speed camera, your allowed 10%, so in a 30mph speed limit you can do 33mph
It's nothing to worry about, even if you do get one its a relativly small fine and a few points, which as you say you haven't had any fines before even that wouldn't be much to worry about0 -
You're not "allowed" 10%. It would be perfectly legal to set a camera to trigger at 0.001mph over the limit. Seeing how most speedos overread and they do set a small margin on cameras then you could expect to not trigger one if the speed showed 10% over the posted limit.Happy chappy0

dad received a speeding ticket a few weeks back,he was doing 33 in a 30.
But as he was only doing 3mph over they gave him the option of 3points and a £60 fine or to go on a speed awareness course for a day and a £60 fine.
They said if it was the drivers first 3 points on licence they would not do this but if the driver has 3points existing they do.anything over 6 then they wouldnt either.I heart The Capital0 -
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

I was stuck in traffic last week, and there was a camera for traffic light crossing, no-one crossed - didnt change red, but about 50% of people it flashed? Might just be something it does? No idea!!!0

my friend got caught earlier doing 35 in a 30 zone, so thats £80 fine and 3 points on her license0

There is a tolerence on the speed limits before you are prosecuted.
http://www.acpo.police.uk/asp/policies/Data/speed_enforcement_guidelines_web_v7_foi.doc
thats a link for the association of chief police officers, and the published guidelines for prosecution. These are guidlines not rules though!
Hope that helps.0 -
Speeding is an absolute offence so 0.1mph over is illegal.
Guidelines (ACPO) as stated above are 10% +2 for prosecution, but again guidelines not rules or law.
Was it a double flash? then it was a speed camera, or single flash? red light camera.I have a cunning plan!
