Deposit Protection Scheme

Hello - my student daughter is renting a property with 3 others. The deposit has only been registered by the landlord in 2 names (1 as lead tenant plus 1 other). The full amount paid by all 4 students is registered. Is this right? I don't want there to be any problems in her, or the remaining tenant in getting their money refunded from either of the other 2 students at the end of the tenancy because they don't get on well with them. The deposit has also been registered for 12 months but the lease is for 24 months. Has anyone got any advice please?

Presumbaly each of the tennants has signed a tennancy agreement with the Landlord making each liable 'jointly or severally'* for the rent (with parents acting as guarantors)? The deposit requirements presumably are mentioned therein? It depends on the actual wording. Can you transcribe the relevant sections?
*means that if any of the tennants fails to pay the rent as it falls due then each are liable as if they rented the flat solely e.g. if tennant A doesn't pay, tennants B, C and D cover A's obligation (as well as their own) and so on.0 -
