I wish people who do not live in N. Ireland......

Given that I lived in Enfield, then Hertford for more than 15 years, I think I have a fair idea... :-)Don't worry, the English are only more poorly educated, on average... Speaking as an Englishman with a school age child, I found it shocking how much better the schools are over here, than in Hertfordfordshire...
Ha ha.. Do you know where Hertfordshire is?0 -

I think many people in NI would say that they were British and have lived there their whole lives?!
You have lost sight of the fact that people in Northern Ireland consider themselves British, Irish, Northern Irish...sometimes all three, sometimes just two, more commonly just one.0 -

I think we all knew what the poster meant, so no need to be pedantic about it,
However, Technically he was correct as people from NI are not actually British. British Citizens - Yes as we are under the rule of Britain, but not British as we don't live in Britain.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
why do people feel the need to bring it all back to british rule blah blah blah. im sure all the orginial poster meant was why do people post their replies to something that they aren't sure on? It's general knowledge that things are things are done differently in Nothern Ireland than in England, Scotland, Wales and South of Ireland!!0

"South of Ireland"
Ha, ha .... only in Ireland do you look north to see the south.

Well, technically Ireland was (until recently) geographically a part of the British Isles... So the Irish were all Britons...
That wasn't PC apparently so it got changed...
;-)
But yes, NI is a part of the UK, not GB (though confusingly the ISO country code for the UK is GB).0 -

Why so serious!? You should have read my post with a bit of humour, which is how it is intended. There are few places in the world able to cause such confusion over something which should be so simple!0
