I don't mind someone from England, Scotland or Wales posting on the board, but what I do find frustrating is when they get snotty with me about something which is different here, the ones which spring to mind being council tax/rates, MOTs and anything related to local councils, since those things are just so so different here.

Or when they recommend that I buy something from a supplier who doesn't actually operate here. That's a bit frustrating too.

I must admit that when companies have rubbed me up the wrong way with unjustifiable delivery charges to NI (i.e. those that use Royal Mail, rather than couriers, so I know that it doesn't cost more to ship here) I have been very tempted to go right ahead and order, on the grounds that surely since NI isn't an offshore island, then the term 'UK mainland delivery' should cover us. I've never had the nerve to try it though, but have wondered if I rang customer services and put on my most polite, but baffled and confused voice, would they see the error of their ways....
  • This was a post on the NI Forum discussing a possible new Tesco on the Castlereagh Road but its an easy mistake to make I am sure ;):

Does anyone know if the Tesco in West Thurrock, Essex have any deals going on? Been viewing this site for months but finally got around to registering yesterday. Loving it so far

    Catch yourselves on :):):)

Insulting other people really is ridiculous. If you don't like a comment or you think it should not be on a thread, politely say so.

Remember be nice to others on MSE. Be tolerant and pleasant. :):)

So according to the OP English, Scottish and Welsh people cannot make mistakes.

Have you ever made a mistake?

This is exactly what I did, I am not in the habit on insulting people, my reply to the poster was (I thought) helpful, pleasant and polite:

You might be best posting this on another place like here which is England specific:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=89

I don't think that you will get many replies to your query from people on this Northern Ireland specific board ;):)

  • If someone wants to have the right to be annoyed at someone for not knowing the query / comment is NI specific then each post in every thread should highlight that fact.

This is a public forum and as stated previously many people just look at new posts rather than go to a specific section or thread.

Or on the other hand that someone could worry about something / anything a wee bit more important instead.

I have done this. If it says delivery is to the UK... we are part of the UK!! I always do read to see if we are excluded or an extra cost. If they have an issue I say well the delivery cost doesn't exclude NI?? Hahaha It really cracks me up that NI is a part of the UK but when we want something shipped it cost treble sometimes

And, conversely, if we order something from ROI we are charged international delivery rate even though no air transit is required! We just get the worst of all worlds!!
