unwanted presents?

Options
Despite e-mails, text and Facebook messages inviting her, one of my nieces still hasn't visited us, so we have her Christmas present still here.
Maybe I shall just keep it till she turns up, even if that is next Christmas.
Then there's the usual lack of gratitude from those who can't be bothered to drop me a thank you - e-mails and texts would be quite acceptable as far as I'm concerned.
Grumpy Aunty.

Looked at from the other point of view, my sons would not go and visit someone just to get a present. That would seem rude.

Give them all notelets and stamps next year ...
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • I'd say just shove it in the cupboard and if she visits in next month or two give it to her. If not, recycle it for next year!
  • I have to agree with the above post and stick it in the cupboard till you see her
  • Oh dear, I only wrote my thank yous yesterday, never dreamt that made me ungrateful, just thought I hadn't got around to it yet!
Can't you post the gifts? Gifts should surely be unconditional, as should love
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
  • Books too heavy to post - probably cost more than they did!
She is an adult, free to travel when and where she likes whereas I am more restricted.
I invited her for a meal and catch up. We usually meet up about once a year, either here or at her mum's ( my sister).
Yes, I will just hang on to the books. It's up to her.
  • Good for you, sounds like you've made your decision then :)
  • ;) When's her birthday?

Am thinking of e-mailing her today.
