Yikes.
I was due to go back to work yesterday after one year extended maternity leave, but have now found out that I am pregnant!!
It was planned, but didn't think it would happen so quickly?
We are pleased, but still in a state of surprise!
I need to go into work tomorrow to discuss new role etc. Is there anything I should be aware of?
I was due to go 50% part-time from yesterday, but have not as yet signed anything. I am now thinking of doing 3 days a week instead of 2? THoughts please?

Many congratulations for a start!
I think you have to tell them by the 26th week of pregnancy.
I think the only thing it will affect is your maternity pay where for the first 6 weeks you get 90% pay - obviously the less you work, the less this will be.
Good luckIt's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission

Remember that if you go back full time now you would be entitled to full maternity pay with your 2nd. My old company paid 14 weeks at full pay and 12 at statutory, rather than just 6 weeks at 90% and 20 at statutory. So if money is a big reason for returning to work then it would be wise to consider going back as much as you can manage, especially if you may not be returning after number 2. Congratulations :j0

Thank you so far.
Due to the nature of my work, involving a lot of overseas travel, I had to tell work immediately, this is their policy for pregnancy.
I am now thinking that I will try to do an extra day now to compensate for later on. I hope I can do it?

Work aside..
My LO has just turned one last week. Any thoughts of dealing with such a short age gap?
I am probably only 5 weeks pregnant, confirmed on Monday.
