19.9% with the lowest limit (£500) is almost always a decline. Mine was £2,000 with 19.9% and was an instant accept.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

When I tried a few months ago it said 19.9% with £1,500 limit which turned into a decline upon a full search.0

Did they increase automatically, or did you apply for the increase?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Hi all, I'm new to credit cards, a current flexaccount holder with Nationwide. I tried to apply for a credit card online with nationwide yesterday and was offered 9.9% - pretty good i thought, but I decided to think about it and speak to a few people about what I should be looking for as I've never had a credit card before.
I decided to go for it, but the second time around, it came up with 15.9%, which I thought was odd, as none of the information I entered had changed. So I cancelled the application.
I tried again today, and this time it said 19.9% !!
I called Nationwide and they said it could be because after a certain page in the process, the credit rating is checked, and each time I cancelled the application and reapplied, it will have taken the previous ratings into account, thus upping my APR each time.
I'm pretty gutted about this, since I've NEVER had a credit rating before and 9.9 was really good, has anyone else had a similar experience, or can they tell me how to correct things?
The form didn't tell me that if I went past a certain page it would affect my rating, so I'm a bit annoyed really... would anyone of you have expected this outcome?
Advice etc is much appreciated,
Thanks everyone.0
