How can I find how much data I've used, Vodafone says it's not possible

thing is...if you go over...they don't start charging you do they? With o2 they give you a headsup and if you routinely go over then they insist you are moved onto a bigger bundle...
If vodafone can't tell you what you've used online with the rest of the account then surely if they ever did charge you you could refuse the charged based on the lousy system they have?0 -

That was my worry - that I would go over with no way of knowing and end up with a huge bill at the end of the month.
There is a simple solution with using Apps but they don't bother to tell you and simply have the attitude of - well if you don't like it, you go can elsewhere!
I also have a contract with O2 which includes data and they are brilliant with their online bills and customer service. Bit more pricey though, but you get what you pay for.0 -
I also have the vodafone app from the android market, and I also recieve a tx saying im near the end ofmy allowence.0

the 44555 service, in my experience, has NEVER shown data for any of the 3 contracts I currently have with VF. The only way I have ever managed to get an idea of the data I'd used was to check my current online usage, and manually add it up. Pretty poor show really. We've been fortunate enough to have never strayed over our data limits though.
Personally....It would seem to me that it's not in VF's interests to get this service working, as I believe that they DO charge if you exceed your data limit.0 -

To be fair, 44555 then option 2 does tell me my current usage since last billing date, are you sure you aren't using option 1?0 -
There seems to be 2 different settings for this service, some people get info, whilst others don't. VF also seem unable to switch you from one to the other. For me - options 1 and 2 give me EXACTLY the same information. (Minutes and texts only - no data)0
