Cant get orange off my credit file.
Hello there,
I've just checked my credit file for the first time, and i can see two open orange accounts on my account. (both in good order) I haven't used orange for about a year. And it appears the account i used before switching from Vodafone has been settled on there.
I have rung orange and explained and i'm hitting a brick wall. AFAIK these accounts may be related to automatic payments on old PAYG sims, and an account i had in university where (i think) they matched a virgin deal where you payed monthly but only for calls used. So its likely been sat there with 0 balance for years.
Has any one had any experience getting something like this sorted. Orange can't see these accounts (so they say) and i would like to get them settled and off my credit file.

I don't think they have any impact and they eventually drop off your file.
They should show as settled in any case and with a £0 balance they shouldn't have any impact on any attempt to get credit.0 -

Yeah thats the problem i have the settled account on there (which was my main mobile account on there)
Just these other two accounts which are not showing as settled, i don't pay any money to orange but they can't even find them!0 -
They should drop off after 6 years when status showing settled.
There should be a reference number on the accounts that you can give them to chase up.0 -
Will have a look for a reference number. Couldn't see anything on Credit Expert!0

This is all i can see on my credit file about these accounts. Can't see any reference numbers...0

I am pretty sure such records can have only positive effect on your credit scoring.0

Definately - a positive confirmation of your handling of the account. It won't be PAYG either, as these do not report to CRA's/0

Everything Everywhere when i was with orange was for a mobile dongle i had... do you have a mobile dongle with them?
also...thats a positive report...each month they are reporting you as being paid and upto date thats a good thing for your report!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

On the contrary, if your credit file is empty, you will struggle to get credit at all. What potential creditors want to see is a record of debts being incurred and then paid off reliably-which is what your record currently shows. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
