Virgin Mobile Refused

For the first time in my life I've been refused credit. I applied for the virgin 850i on-line contract that gives the phone free 200 mins & 500 texts for 12 months at £25 per month dropping to £20 per month after 1 year.

How do I find out why they have refused me and can anyone suggest another deal for this phone with texts being the more important factor.

Below is their reply to me.

Having done your extra research, and found no negative information, you must be puzzled by our decision. So we'd like to explain how we arrive at the decisions we do.

The first thing to bear in mind is that the Equifax Credit Rating service acts as a guide for consumers - and for companies too. It can indicate whether your score is strong or weak, judging from the areas that Equifax holds data on.

However, your score is just one factor taken into consideration when we decide whether to set up a credit agreement or not. Like most companies, at Virgin Mobile we use the information we gain from Equifax to help us make our decision, and apply it to our own guidelines and our additional rules on lending credit. This may mean that we're still unable to set up a credit agreement.

If you'd like to find out more about our terms & conditions, you can take a look on our website at virgin.com/mobile.

If there's anything else we can help you with, just reply to this email. You can also give us a call on 789 from a Virgin Mobile phone – it's just 10p, no matter how long you talk for. Or, you can call us on 0845 6000 789 from a fixed line phone. These calls are charged at local rate.

How did we do? If you'd like to give us some feedback, just click on the link below and fill in our online questionnaire. You might like to have your original email handy to read while you're doing it. We promise to use your answers to make our service the best it can be.
