Thanks for all the advice, I thought long about it and now own a Miele Allervac, heres to, fingers crossed, not sneezing!

    Phew!

I was reading this post, looking at all the other advice and thinking NO! The best vacuum for you is the Miele Allervac or at least one of the Miele range! So well done for getting the right one.

Its quite simple, for normal £200 to £300 vacuum cleaners Miele are without question the best to have if allergies need to be considered as Miele vacuums are the only vacuums that are completely certified by the Allergy Foundation not just the filters.

Take comfort in the knowledge that the exhaust air from your new vacuum will be considerably cleaner than the air that goes in! One extra point though only ever use the genuine Miele bags and filters.

I am extremely susceptible to dust mites. I have to suffer from sneezing, coughing, runny nose, itchy eyes and sometimes mild breathing problem through out the year.

My physician advised me to use HEPA filter vacuum cleaner to prevent the spread of house dust mites.

Right now am using Miele HEPA filter vacuum cleaner and no doubt it's the best investment to clean carpets, rugs and it is considerably reducing all my allergic reactions.

I also have a Miele vacuum with the HEPA filter. I bought it as my son suffers from bad excema. I'd never buy another bagless one after this. I always used to be sniffly after using our old vacuum - not to mention when I emptied it!

The only little gripe I have, is that it's a cannister and it can be a bit hard to push. I'd love the head with the revolving brush (turbo head?) but haven't got one yet - you get them with the Cat and Dog version or you can buy them separately, but the Cat and Dog version didn't have the HEPA filter and that was the reason I bought it.
