Net would be after 20% savings tax wouldn't it? So not £50, but £40 after tax deduction.

Beat me to it. Just rang my bank up and after being on hold for a while, that's what they said. Bit misleading this £50 stuff then!
Tax will be payable on your matched payment on the same basis as the interest on your nominated savings account. For example, if you currently receive interest net (after the deduction of income tax) on your nominated savings account and the amount to be matched is £10 you will receive £8 in matched funds. Example based on UK tax position. Offshore accounts may be subject to tax applicable to your country of residence.

Keep these things quiet don't they!

Indeed, they're treating it as extra interest so £50 was the gross amount.

My £40 for February has just appeared too. On to £12 odd for March so far so the target is in sight

At least you got your £40. A 4 month old cheque took my a/c £1.58 overdrawn so they didn't pay £15 worth of STC that day and my card got stopped which held up the remainder for the month and it only went through in March. My total for Feb is no more than £30....minus savings tax.

Still....it's all free money, eh? :D

They're probably doing them in batches. They're not required to credit it until 1st April - anything any earlier is just a bonus. (just checked mine - not done yet either.)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

    "STC MATCHING NET £40.00"

My main account and regular saver a resisted for gross tax. Just thought my on-line saver would be when I opened it. If I send my R85 in now will they give me the other £10?
