Monday 9th Jan - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:D
Goood morning everyone - hope you're all well on this Monday morning...ready and raring to go??;)
So, nothing unusual for me today...work, home, dinner...that's about it. Hopefully an NSD though:)
Ok - here's my list:
Have a great day:A

Hi Pixiechick & everyone who follows
I'm here but can't confirm the 'raring to go' bit just yet
What a hectic few weeks I've been having... Did I tell you my laptop blew up?! That's the main thing that's been keeping me away from you lot. I've decided to bite the bullet and get a smart phone - a bit pricier per month but definitely cheaper than a new laptop... Then I'm going to get an ip@d for my 30th in a few months - everyone is asking what I want so they'll be happy that I'm putting any money they give me to good use :T
Other crazy hectic things that are happening - hubby is getting made redundant at the end of the month
He does hate his job and has a few applications in the pipeline and his payoff is quite good - if we keep up the frugalista lifestyle it should be enough to get us through the next 4 months but obviously it's making me a bit anxious and nervy. Here we go again... Just something else to keep me away from busting that debt's butt!
Anyway, enough of my waffle, let's get on with the small things that I'm doing to keep me focussed:-
Got a weekly ticket for the bus
Taking lunch to work
Walking to yoga (although I might need to get the bus back cos it'll be late)
Reading on my lunch break instead of going out to any shops
Sorting out our bedroom
Keeping an eye on freecycle
Keeping it simple
Take care everyone!

Morning all,
Thanks for starting us Pixie.
Good to see you back La Escocesa, sorry to hear about everything that's been going on though! If your heart isn't set on an iphone, might I suggest a HTC Desire HD instead? It's what I have & it is a lot cheaper than an iphone but essentially does the same thing. Fingers crossed your hubby finds a new job soon.

Hi all
Still trying to keep on the straight and narrow, payday on 28th Jan so not too long to go now till I'm ALMOST back to normal
So, things today:
Checked banking, all ok. Well, not OK but you know...not bankrupt!
Take DS to music class if he's feeling up to it, it's paid for already so a shame to waste it
Take DS to doctors to check on conjunctivitis then feed him at Costafortune afterwards, cup of tea for me paid for with loyalty points.
Meals from Slimming World plan - salad for lunch, pasta for tea
Pay in expenses cheque - £93, woohoo!
NSD if possible.
Need to to pick up pass the parcel things for DS's 1st birthday party this weekend, so have a look in poundshop to get ideas.
I think that's everything, have lovely days xx0 -
Good Morning! can I join in please? Need to really get myself sorted out this year. Having cleared off all debts three years ago, I'm ashamed to say I've let a bit build up once more... So today:
Checked online banking and moved pension payment out to savings account
taken frozen patty mix out of freezer ready for making patties for lunch this week
Washing hung on airer in conservatory rather than tumble drier
determined to park a bit further away whenI go to gym so as it's free parking not paid.
Ok that's all I can think of for now - but it's a start!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
