Hello everyone - happy Monday. Have just nipped home between jobs so thought I'd put my list up now - so today I will:
1) Tidy small bedroom
2) Polish and hoover my bedroom
3) Clean ensuite
4) Do spreadsheets
5) Tidy out van
Think that is all I'll manage today, but if I do that lot then I will be a happy bunnyWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Hi
I'm new here, I'm loving the challenge. It's perfect for me because I'm digging myself out of depression one day at a time.
Monday I:- Cleaned the living room
- Hoovered the landing
- Hoovered the stairs
- Made dinner
- Changed the litter trays (6 cats so a lot of litter!)
- Went for a lovely walk in the country with my hubby and our dogs.
- Got a quote to replace our garden fence.
- Cleared up the area around my computer, where clutter had piled up till it was almost pushing it off the table!
- Packed away Christmas stuff for next year.
- Sorted the recycling.
- Open the scary letters I've been putting off and pay the water rates!
- Clean the rabbit cage.
- Clean the rat cage.
- Clean the spare room.
- Trim dogs claws.
- Bath dog.
- Walk dogs
- Clean the living room.
- Do 2 lots of clothes washing.
- Sort through my mountain of magazines, clipping and filing articles and recipes I want to keep and recycling the rest.

We all have off days, don't go beating yourself up about it as it will just make you feel worse, look at the positives, you made one step forward, get some rest today and spoil yourself a bit even if it's only for 1/2 an hour! Take care xxxvintage43:A

I agree completely! This is the reason why this challenge is the positive steps challenge - it is about looking at the positives that you have achieved in the day
I know its not up to me to tell you all how to do the challenge but please be careful about using to do lists - in my experience these can work well when you are motivated but can be very easy to also beat yourself up about if and when you don't complete them.
I have been holding my tongue a bit about this as everyone seemed to be getting on well and feeling motivated by their to do lists, but the past few messages are starting to fall into the 'failure' trap.
Don't forget we all can have a bad day, but those of us with depression will have that tendency to emphasize the negatives - we need to be really careful about this as it does just add to the depression. For anyone who doesn't have depression it becomes demotivating to focus on the what we didn't achieve side of the list as well.
Maybe we could all help support each other by challenging the use of what i call the 'failure' words - such as ONLY managed for example? Also if we don't do the things on our lists but do other things that still counts as positives
