i spoke with Hr today and completed the form I needed to reduce my work hours by half! My manager emailed back to say they would have an outcome for me on Wednesday. It's going to be tricky coping on half pay but I really can't manage full tiem, I have tried since Oct so have given it a fair go, the problem is going to be the 3 months notice until the reduction, I hope that doesn't make me too ill as i don't want to be letting workmates down as they have to cover for me. I did have a lovely sleep today after emailing the form in, i think it was stressing me out, now it's done!:j

Well done for getting this done Vintage, i know its been a tough one for you!! :T:T

If you are worried about the 3 month notice it would be worth talking to OH or your manager about this as well - i know they can over ride these things for health reasons (i used to be a manager and had to deal with this stuff). The fact is it is easier as a manager to deal with certainty than uncertainty, and if you are likely to get sick from working too many hrs its harder to deal with that than you saying up front you are going to need to get this covered earlier - it is worth a chat about it if you haven't already done that!

    Thank you folks :)

I just wanted to know if the positive steps had to be money related, or if I could add things that just mean getting my life in order. I'm not very good at keeping my life ordered and so I end up with a lot of clutter, both actual and mental.

Sorry to hear about your depression TM6, I hope things are getting better for you. And you made me giggle yay! And I can identify with the getting out of bed is and achievement sometimes fairyclicks.

ok mine for today - (am I supposed to post in advance or afterwards? and does it have to be 10?)

    - Changed bedding so yay snuggly clean bedding :)
    - Went into town for a it of fresh air and browsed and didn't buy anything! In fact stepped away from temptation several times and when I nearly gave in to a magazine, went and got the free one from Boots :)
    - Put make up on before I left the house - have been meaning to start doing this to feel better about myself and to start using up things I have. It helped me feel prettier and so put a smile on my face. Now to see if I can face getting up 15 mins earlier on work days so I can do it before work.
    - Got to prance about in my "getting ready for winter" stuff. Haven't needed wellies/waterproof jacket until now lol
    - About to do the last of the ironing so that's out of the way for another working week
    - Need to sort out make up and toiletries. Am I taking bets on whether I'll be able to do it today?

Thank you for letting me join in :)

    Very welcome Blue Elephant :)

I think we mostly have got into the habit of posting a list of things we want to try and do (but with being careful about using it to beat ourselves up about not doing things on it) then later or as we do them we all seem to add a wee done indicator like a smilie or a done or something. Quite a few of us like to add up our smilies so we know just how much we have managed to achieve :) but again feel free to do your own thing :)

its up to you as well how many things you aim for - somedays for me its 1 or 2 and other days can be like 15.....for me its about trying to stretch myself a wee bit but not overdoing it.

I think we could call this thread the do whatever you want thread really :rotfl::rotfl: ....oh as long as its focussed on the positives of our day and not the other bits - we don't like them :rotfl::rotfl: :D
