Can I ask, are the positive steps all supposed to be money related, or just general get my life in order things?

Hi Blue Elephant and thank you for poking your trunk round the corner. I'm sure your 10 positive steps could be money related if you would like them to be.

Personaly I am suffering from a severe incapacitating bout of depression and my positive steps are a strategy to help me get things done and to realise what I am achieving (iyswim).

Whatever you decide, you would be very welcome to join in :D

    Hello there Blue Elephant

Its really up to you what positive steps you want to do - sometimes mine are money related and sometimes get my life in order stuff, sometimes just get out bed in the morning is enough for me in a day :rotfl:

TBH i think if you do get life in order stuff it tends to link to money stuff in some way, even if its just giving you the room or confidence to look at it :D

Hope you will pop in and join us if you feel like giving it a go, we are all working through various things and everyone is nice and supportive! xx

i spoke with Hr today and completed the form I needed to reduce my work hours by half! My manager emailed back to say they would have an outcome for me on Wednesday. It's going to be tricky coping on half pay but I really can't manage full tiem, I have tried since Oct so have given it a fair go, the problem is going to be the 3 months notice until the reduction, I hope that doesn't make me too ill as i don't want to be letting workmates down as they have to cover for me. I did have a lovely sleep today after emailing the form in, i think it was stressing me out, now it's done!:j

  • Thank you folks :)

I just wanted to know if the positive steps had to be money related, or if I could add things that just mean getting my life in order. I'm not very good at keeping my life ordered and so I end up with a lot of clutter, both actual and mental.

Sorry to hear about your depression TM6, I hope things are getting better for you. And you made me giggle yay! And I can identify with the getting out of bed is and achievement sometimes fairyclicks.

ok mine for today - (am I supposed to post in advance or afterwards? and does it have to be 10?)

    - Changed bedding so yay snuggly clean bedding :)
    - Went into town for a it of fresh air and browsed and didn't buy anything! In fact stepped away from temptation several times and when I nearly gave in to a magazine, went and got the free one from Boots :)
    - Put make up on before I left the house - have been meaning to start doing this to feel better about myself and to start using up things I have. It helped me feel prettier and so put a smile on my face. Now to see if I can face getting up 15 mins earlier on work days so I can do it before work.
    - Got to prance about in my "getting ready for winter" stuff. Haven't needed wellies/waterproof jacket until now lol
    - About to do the last of the ironing so that's out of the way for another working week
    - Need to sort out make up and toiletries. Am I taking bets on whether I'll be able to do it today?

Thank you for letting me join in :)
