Evening all,

I'm looking to get my solid front door replaced with one of these triple glazed composite doors:
http://www.apeer.co.uk/
They look and feel rather solid and chunky. I'm going for the APT door style, which I can't find exhibited by any other door manufactured.

There's only two suppliers in the Aberdeenshire area for these particular doors. I got a quote from one (Bon Accord Glass): £2432 including the Yale Keyfree Lock, side panel, usual accesories & fitting.

Is that price worth it? Considering it includes triple glazing, double rebate and a 70mm thickness, i.e. more than the usual 44mm thickness. For comparison, a similar yaledoor is £1500 for a 44mm thickness

Rather expensive if you ask me. The other supplier never got back with a price despite repeated requests, and independant joiners can only source these particular doors via Bon Accord Glass.

Cheers

Anthony

I looked at loads of Doors and chose a Rockdoor. Like he says they really are the best quality.

I bought mine from a Birmingham Company who were the cheapest in the UK (It may have something to do with them being next to GAP Birmingham where Rockdoors are made). they will prob charge you £100 delivery to you but even with that they still gonna be cheap. Can't remember guys name but its 0121 311 2666. Gonna look for a pic of my rockdoor and post on here. i love it!! lol

  • Can rockdoors supply direct to independant joiners (or even me directly), or do they only supply to your typical doors & windows fitting companies?

Do they have a typical pricelist anywhere for their doors?

If £1270 is the price of your door fitted, then it really makes my quote look like a rip off.

The breakdown of my quote had the basic door price in at £1389 ex vat.

  • Hi im new here, im in the process of getting a Rockdoor, done my research on other doors and beleive this will be a good choice. Im in a flat so only real entry pointis the front door.

Currently the original door is still on these flat are 35+ years. Time for an upgrade! There have been two attempts to get in with a screwdriver.

I have gone for a colonial with 4 hook system and steel mesh with a night latch and tbar (like a chain). Best price i can get is £1300. Seems fair have knocked em down a bit. Fitter has a good rep aswell.

Just really do you guys think this is a good price? The security they offer is amazing so ive read....

    Cheers.
