  • Working Monday to Thursday 7.30am til 5.15pm doesn't leave me much time to clean on those days but I have managed the following :D

Cleaned the en suite to within an inch of it's life, cleaned the glass shower cubicle, descaled the toilet, taps and sink, cleaned shelving, sink, toilet and managed to wipe down the door frames, pipes, radiator (chrome towel type) and cleaned my DD's bathroom top to bottom including their storage cupboard that had toothpaste, conditioner, shampoo etc etc on the glass shelves - hubby thinks I have lost the plot I think! lol

Will try and aim to clean the downstairs toilet tomorrow evening but that will be all for me as I have my lovely step dad and disabled brother over for dinner :D

Just sitting down to watch biggest loser after nearly three hours of solid cleaning!

Three levels complete - sunroom windows were filthy!

Would have stopped there but sneaked a look at the thread and saw we will have all bedrooms in one day - Ahhh! So spent some time clearing the bedrooms to try and get a head start!

List for tomorrow not too bad - determined to get all three levels done - even some extras!

I don't have a study, so did my living room, can actually see most of the carpet now, gave it a quick hoover and did half hour paperwork. Had a v busy day and friends round for dinner, so that was all for today, but am quite pleased I achieved 'level 1'!!

Can't wait to see tomorrow's list!

  • I think the Spyders have been at work today ;) I was only looking at my kettle this afternoon thinking it was about time I descaled it! :p How do you do it? (knowing about it, not how do you descale it :rotfl:)

My dinner was yummy :D even if I do say so myself! I just need to decant whats left to the freezer in portions. The kitchen needs clearing up, but I have unexpectedly got a few hours to myself in the morning, so i will attack it then. DD2 will be around aswell, as she has a Health & Social care exam tomorrow pm, so doesn't need to go in until then. I hope she has revised, like she says she has!!

A no fly day for me unfortunately. Felt like pap when I got up for work with a blinding headache but went into work anyway. Didnt take long before I got sent home so I spent the afternoon in bed and have taken it easy ever since so will be playing catch up again tomorrow.

    Be back with you then

Have you got malt vinegar? Just pour enough in to cover the element, leave to stand and then give a good rinse out (you can pour the vinegar into a jar and use again for descaling something else). Boil and discard the first lot of water. Do not use pickling vinegar (say she from experience). My kettle doesn't have an element as it is a stove top one so a quick brush out with the washing up brush does it:p

Taps I spray on neat vinegar, leave then wipe off. If there is a lot of scale at the base I soak a small piece of kitchen roll in vinegar wrap it tightly around, leave for an hour and then brush with an old toothbrush.

To descale the bit where the water comes out. Soak some cotton wool in vinegar, place in a small plastic bag and place over the tap so that the cotton wool is sitting over the tap head. Hold in place with a rubber band, leave overnight and it should wipe off in the morning. Repeat if necessary.
