To answer part of your query before you get all too excited, your BF must have been detected commiting the traffic violation (how he or you did not notice you were on a one way street is for another thread), usually you would get an NIP before the charge, although pepio or whatever it is called is often mentioned, unless your BF is a footballer or some mega star, he may spend more on defending the charge than the fine itself0 -
If it was yesterday how was this notice served?
Was he stopped and handed it? This all seems a little strange. Did whoever serve it write 4pm on the ticket? The measure of love is love without measure0 -
Driving without due care an attention eh?
If the signage is defective then it is a very relevant point.
I would suggest posting this over at www.pepipoo.com and they will be able to advise you.
Is it a ticket issued by a local authority? If so, forget a solicitor, use the good people of Pepipoo who will gladly assist."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

well my bf wrote a letter to hand in to the police station with a form he had to fill in and has loads of photos proving there is no sign and the other sign is facing the wrong way.
seems loads of people have been caught out by this area as spoke to people i work with and 19 different known cases have happened just from their family and friends or themself0 -
The letter wont do any good, he will get a notice of intended prosecution, he will need to attend court, plead not guilty, attend again and present his evidence of no sign.
As the receipt could be wrong or even found blowing down the street I would not really chuck this in for the police may loose the traffic case on the signs but may have a pop at perverting the course of justice over the receipt issue, they are very good at convincing juries on such matters.
Now armed with this information, he needs to make a very quick decision, AT LEAST two days in court fighting it or pay upHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
