As many people have personally messaged MSE about this and had nothing but an automated response, obviously not all points have been covered.

Yes HC did originally refuse to come back...like others have said, it was a heat of the moment decision and response (like 99.9% of us have been guilty of in the past in certain situations). However, since then he has contacted MSE and apologised and asked to come back.

The original 'rules' dont seem to have been followed, and even if you claim different, its clear that you have different rules for different people as one rule is that PMs dont get posted on here - yet **a nameless forum manager** put HCs PM on here....surely that would warrant the same ban applying to said manager ? I'm not suggesting that happen, as I'm sure they were doing it to try to help the situation (although it didnt work!)....but my point is, if one person is allowed to break the rules without a lifetime ban, surely this should apply to everyone?

We all appreciate this may be seen as 'backing down', but sometimes it pays to be the bigger person so to speak and acknowledge the right thing to do.

I will also echo other peoples views that anyone working in a customer facing environment (whether that be face to face in Ts or a MOD/board guide on a forum) should have the relative skills to deal with people. You are quick to support those with photosensitive epilepsy (I have this) when requesting the removal of flashing images, yet as far as I can see no one has received formal warnings/yellow/red card or ban over these...yet these could affect someone a lot worse than a swear word being written within a post. No consideration seems to have taken place regarding HC having Asperger's.

We have all agreed to 'self police' the thread in order to prevent anything like this happening again, and in the event it did happpen, I think we would all agree that a ban would be inevitable.

I would like to see the issue fully addressed based on people's requests and emails, and I hope this can have a satisfactory outcome for everyone.

Well written - I totally agree with what you have said.

Just to save anyone else the bother of trying this. I posted a question on the Forum Policy & Rules thread this afternoon asking how we can at least get an answer to the HappyChappyGate situation. Not only did I not get a reply my post was deleted :(
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

I think everyone need to take a step back and chillout else this thread could get pulled and that is the last thing everyone wants or needs.

You have a point BUT what other options do we have.
Most people on hre have made their points about this in a polite and logical manner. Other than do and say nothing, which for me isn't an option, what else can we do to make sure this issue is not just forgotten about?
