I rang the hospital and spoke to FIL and he was full of beans, said food was great and could he have his glasses so he can see what the nurses look like - he said they sound lovely but can't be too sure as can't see them ( he is also partially sighted), i asked him if i could take him anything in when i go home on friday and he said a bus ticket out of there - i said its not that bad is it? he said no, but people die in places like this and he wants to make sure he gets his pension for the month first!! - still got a great sense of humour!! i told him i was trying to get cover so i could get home earlier, but he said i should stay where i was as there are bills that need paying and he doesn't want me to get into debt for his sake - love him xxx

Bad news but great that he's so positive, that will help a LOT in his treatment and recovery xx

Did ANYONE ever have the fear drummed into them of Rag Eye and Flannel Foot that lived in the 'cockaloft'?

My mum used to frighten me silly with these fictional characters. I was petrified. I used to lie still in bed trying not to breathe too loud in case they could follow the sound of my breaths.

It was just a bit of fun really I guess but I was convinced they really lived in our loft.

Did anyone else used to be scared of when the loo flushed? I used to belt it down the stairs after I flushed as if an army was after me. I also used to leap onto the bed after I turned my light out in case hands grabbed my ankles.

I was terrified of my ceiling light! I had one of those frilly type shades that was a sort of inverted bowl shape, and in the dark, when you looking up into it, for me it was incredibly spooky and frightened me, it took me until I was about 13 to fully get over it! :rotfl:

Will do a full catch up later, just popped in to say that at Asda Park Royal NW10 this afternoon there were two shelves full of reduced chickens (not halal) only less than a pound off, i wouldn't recommend a special journey but I can't see them staying at that price later or all being sold.

No sign of any 2p Xmas reductions

You were probably a bit heavy handed on the touch pad, but its easily remedied
