Advice on ending contract

I have a 24 month contract with virgin that ends in feb its costing £30 a month but as im happy with my htc desire want to go to a sim only deal with tesco costing £10 a month.So I phone up virgin for a pac as want to take my number do I have to cancel my contract with virgin or will it stop in feb once the 24 months are up?

    If you get PAC the contract gets terminated at the day the PAC is used and the number is ported. They charge you for 30 days or until the end of the min term whichever ends later.
    If you get PAC and don't use it the contract continues on 1 month rolling basis.
