    Unfortunately not. It has cost you £0.37 standing charge + 3 x 11 x 3.185p + VAT (approx).

ok guys a bit of clarification i am on npower go fix 8 with daily charge of 37.40p per day and unit rate 3.185p excl vat

i had a wee look at the old b/gas bill and they have the calculation on it --1 metric unit = 11.05 kw

so in effect todays heating on 2 hours this morning having used 3 units has cost me 37.4p standing charge plus (11.05kw x3) 33.15 x 3.185p =1.05 plus the 37.4p - £1.42 plus vat

am i correct or totally losing the plot now???

    Yes you have it correct!

    Unfortunately not. It has cost you £0.37 standing charge + 3 x 11 x 3.185p + VAT (approx).

I can only think jalexa has missed your 11.05kWh x 3 = 33.15kWh - unless you edited it after his post!

Well my post is timed 09:03, foxyuk's last edit 09:04:D

TBH I think I overlooked the "£1.42" (sort of recall that number) because the "working" was wrong (but has now been edited). Mental note to myself, quote verbatim next time.

Anyway we all agree that £1.42 + VAT is correct.

Using those figures for 10 days the 88 gas units you used would cost £30.97 + VAT = £32.52 + £3.74 standing charge(+ VAT?) so under £4 a day.
