Dog should be on lead whenever its in a public area. Had a big rottie cross come bounding at my small child I'd be bloody annoyed as well I have to say.
so would I and I own a rottie. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I have two Afghans and so they are never off the lead unless in their own run or when I am up in the hills where I can see for miles. There has been a couple of occasions when walking them I have had children run up to my two and fling their arms round their necks before I have a chance to stop them . Okay mine have never even growled at anyone but I still would not guarantee what they would do if they were frightened or stood on accidentally by an overexcited child they are large dogs. Don't agree with the chap kicking your dog but personally I wouldn't put my dogs in the position where someone could do that.0

I have to say though that the parent who kicked the dog would have thought twice if the dog's owner had been a huge shaven headed tattooed man!!
People like him tend to pick their target carefully.0
