copying from sky planner

my sky is cutting off in a couple of weeks and i still have stuff id like to keep so is it possible to copy onto an external hard drive if i just plug it in the front of the box?

No you cant do that, there are ways of extracting the files but they would still be encrypted and would need to be re installed in a sky box with live card for viewing. Not sure of the FTA recordings would still be accessible after your card s dead or not.


Or you could play them and record via scart or RF out.

Are you cancelling your Sky hoping for a better deal?

After about 4-6 weeks you should get call or a flier offering 12 mths 1/2 price, then all your recordings will be accessable again.
