    Hi,

Still waiting for a letter from the AA Insurance about my no claims and if they cancled my policy or if i did.

Is it hard to get insurance if a policy has been cancled by an old insurance policy that i had. I have noticed on some sites that there is a tick box to say if you have had a policy stopped.

    Chris
Never tried it but I believe so yes unfortunately.

The online quote systems will have that in the terms you agee to, You must be the keeper and owner etc..

Anything like that will need to speak to the companies directly and explain before they quote.

Dont be tempted to lie... It could come back and bite you big time. They have acess to databases these days
and will know you have had a policy cancelled. They could cancel the new policy or ask for a greater premium.

Having a policy cancelled for fraud or failure to disclose could be very costly.

May sound like doom and gloom and people will say the risk is neglible, But checkout the posts on here where
people are having issues with insurance companies because information was withheld or trwisted.

  • Hi all,

    Just an update on this.

Phoned the AA Insurance tonight. Got someone very helpfull on the phone and i asked my questions about the items above.

1, They say that my policy was not cancled and it shows on the system that the policy just lapsed and was never renewed even that i owed them around £90 at the time. I guest this was down to it being a few weeks from the policy end date.

2, Say i have 5 years no claims valid until Feb 9th 2012 and as the above policy lapsed its 5 years instead of 4.

Asked them to send proof on letter for no claims and also proof to say the policy was not cancled just so it puts my mind at rest and so its down on paper then.

Does the above sound ok to anyone and that getting it down on paper from this is better than over the phone for proof

I got a renew letter in Feb from them saying please keep this renew letter as proof of no claims which it states 5 years.

But how long will it last for? If you dont drive for a year will you lose it and have to start over?
Yes my precious, my monetary PRECIOUS metals, is what I want.
  • Not sure what you mean. The no claims are valid only from the end of the policy which was Feb 9th 2010 and valid for 2 years
