Which networks include Picture Messages?

Several years back when I had a pay monthly contract with o2 (I think), if I sent a picture message then it counted as 3 text messages from my inclusive allowance. At the moment I'm with orange and although I have a huge text allowance I pay separately for each picture message.

Does anyone know which networks consider the picture messages as inclusive (even if they count for several text messages) and which don't?

It isn't easy to find out from the networks' websites, I've been trying for a while now! But with a baby due next month I think it would be nice to be able to send free piccies to bore everyone silly :D but without it costing me!

To kick off:
  • Orange - definitely not.
  • o2 - maybe?

  • Have you considered a smart phone? You could post your pictures to Facebook or use a messaging app like Whatsapp to send them to your friends for free.

O2 offer it free with there data plans but no other network offers it free. Three and Vodafone have a bundle as does T-Mobile. Orange does not I believe.

Thanks for the suggestions... but this is mainly for friends and relatives not on Facebook and even less tech-savvy than me :o

That's useful, thanks. Can anyone confirm about 3, Vodafone &/or T-Mobile?

if they offer it through data how does that work?

  • On O2 you have to choose your base tariff which includes minutes & sms.

You then choose a data bundle which would be one of the following:-

    The Basics £3 100mb Data.
The All Rounder £6 500mb Data, Unlimited Wifi, 20 Picture Messages
The Works for £10 1Gb, Unlimited wifi, 50 Pictures Messages.

    Hope this helps
