Can I put my current '3' sim in an unlocked Iphone 3

I have a current contract with three which I am happy with my minutes/text/internet allowance but my phone is crappy, if I buy an unlocked Iphone 3 can I just keep using my current sim and stay on my same monthly plan?

    Yeah, no problem at all :-)
    I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
