Good idea
was thinking about scrambled egg did you just give them 1 egg scrambled with a little milk or just the egg.
How long was it until you had a complete change from breeders food to your choice, was it achieved within a week, just curious. It doesn't really matter how long, I have the patience to wait.
Thanks
I don't use any milk, just whisk the egg with a fork and pop in the microwave for 30 secs, whisk it again and its ready!
Suki was on 4 meals a day when we brought her home and although the breeder doesn't use dog food for her own dogs she recognises that its much easier for most people so she'd started the pups on a combination 2 wks before they were picked up.
Just dug out her puppy diet and this is what she had
breakfast - scrambled egg
lunch - 1/4 daily allowance of dried food (softened with a bit of boiling water)
tea - 2 lamb meatballs (found it easier to buy meatballs than weigh out meat) - chopped and browned in a pan (no extra fat added)
supper - 1/4 da of dried food again.
When we reduced her to 3 meals we brought her tea time forward and pushed the supper time back and added dried food to the scrambled egg. She's on 2 meals a day both dried food with the occasional meatball or scrambled egg as a treat and she loves milky tea.
We found a couple of tins of dog food from her puppy pack the other day and gave her some - she loved it but she didn't half whiff iykwim :rotfl:0 -

Very nice menu that
sounds like what my kids eat.
It's great to get some first hand experience thank you so much.
I'm the only one in the family who has never had my own dog so all this is a great help.
My brother has just got a new pup and if I was to ring them I would be on the phone all day, this is so much easier to find out what I need to know. As i have a permanent record.
Thanks again.0 -

Glad to help. If you've got any other questions ask away. We took Suki to puppy classes as soon as she'd had all her injections and it was great to be with other new owners and be able to ask all sorts of daft questions - reminded me of when the kids started school and you haven't got a clue!0
