Ebay - 10% final fee......

The bottom line is that receiving 90% of the ebay market price is the most lucrative way of selling many types of items ... and unlike a bootsale, you don't have to get up at silly-o'clock and haggle face-to-face with aggressive desperados.
Last bootsale I did people wanted to pay pennies AND some of the stalls were clearly traders, selling multiple packs of new items - probably the location of the sale (in a town centre) wasn't helpful. So I refuse to do that again - just not worth it IMO.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

What is expensive?
Once you're past £200, then paying cash and not completing the sale via Ebay means there's a useful pot of 'fees' to be split. Not uncommon for buyers to ask to split this to cover their petrol costs for the pick-up.0 -

My parents are keen watchers of Dickenson's real deal (Look, they're old and they're not hurting anyone, lol) and they tell me that 'real' auction fees are high and the way I see it that with ebay you aren't limited to, say a 2hour slot in a hall somewhere and hoping that a big bidder happens to be around - or has heard and is on the phone etc.
With ebay you can get up to 10 days for the same listing fee and reach the entire world for that time if you so desire. 10% seems a fairly reasonable deal when you look at it like that.0 -
AS a business seller I love the multiple BINs.
I can say have a widget in 4 different colours and list all 4 colours and as many items in each colourways as I want for 40p for 30 days. I think the best I've had was 7 distinct variations in a listing and 6 of each item, so I listed 42 items for 40p, and every time I got more stock I could just revise the listing and add more.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. For what i sell and the effort i have to put in to photographing and posting (which is minimal) i think 10% is worth it. However, i only list on free listing days so i dont have to pay a listing fee. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
