Mum has no Callcredit history

My mum has lived at her current address since 1996 and been on the electoral register there ever since. Equifax reflect this, but Experian don't!
Very strange.0 -
Hi guys,
Since posting my last post, I've been trying to get a response from Experian with no luck!
I've sent them two emails (both of which state a "7 day response time") and heard nothing.
Calling them is no help as they don't provide a telephone service to non-subscribed users (i.e. they don't give two craps about the people who order statutory reports).
Anyone got any tips for how I can get through to them?
Thanks as always,

There is an Experian rep (James) somewhere on the MSE boards. Perhaps you can find one of his posts and send him a PM?0

I wouldn't hold your breath. He refuses to answer questions related to Experian on the boards.
Anyway, it appears he's disabled PM's on his profile.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

So any ideas as to how I can get a response from these guys??0

In the past, I have got the £2 statutory report from Experian then used that to raise 'errors' via their website quoting the reference numbers and sections on the report. Eventually, an email will arrive which might be helpful. I haven't tried the telephone method.
Don't raise too many queries at the same time because Experian (from what I remember) don't reference your original email in their reply so you can get 2 or three emails and you haven't a clue which one is the reply to which question.
After a few months you might get a result but they are the worst of the CRAs I have dealt with.
You might want to ask the information commissioner how to proceed.

Hi guys,
I finally got a response from Experian who turned out to be quite helpful in the end.
They advised that my Mums details were being recorded under different address variations and have now merged them all into the one account.
How do I now check the strength of her credit? Does she need to put this into practice by actually applying for credit?
Thanks,

That is the only real way. Anything else is just guesswork.
Before applying, it might be an idea to get an up to date copy of the credit report to make sure all the changes have been made.0 -
Funny you should say that.. We just checked the latest version following Experian's confirmation that they had indeed discovered account fragments due to address format variations and we're now seeing SOME entry for Electoral Roll registration, however, it's missing 10 years! It states my mum only registered since 2007, when it's actually 1997 (as confirmed by our council's Electoral Services dept).
So We've had to email Experian AGAIN!
If/when we do manage to sort out this Electoral Roll discrepancy and my mum is still refused credit, what else could it be? Just the amount vs her salary and age? Presumably credit checks take salary into consideration? Is that manually supplied or automatically retrieved?
Thanks in advance.

Just the amount vs her salary and age?
No there's more to it than that.
Salary is pretty important.
Also type of employment e.g. self employed, time at address, time accounts have been held, number of searches, % of credit used, credit available as a % of salary, number of accounts, defaults, late payments, cash withdrawals, homeowner status etc.
Salary is supplied by you on the application form. Some details might be checked with an employer or verified by payslis/bank statements etc.
It can be very hard to know why individual applications are turned down as a lender may be targetting a specific market, but we can usually help work out the reason if someone is constantly refused.
It could be not long enough at address, too much credit already, too much debt, too manys searches etc.0
