DSS got a parking notice from Parking Utilities Limited back in October, which has now been passed from Roxburghe to Graham White.
I have read all the notices on here, but DH and DSS are worried that bailiffs will cease DSS car - his only possession.
I also work in the finance industry so cannot afford to have a bad credit rating against our address.
Are we doing the right thing in ignoring them?
Roxburghe have called the house a couple of times but wanted to speak to us, not DSS, but we have never been in.
Believe me if I speak to them they will be told to only send letters and to not call. I will also be asking where they got an ex directory and telephone preference service registered number from.
Thanks for your help in advance.

You will not get a bad credit rating....keep ignoring there is only one more letter to come then that's it.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

If, as you say you work in the finance industry then you will be well aware that a debt collection agency have all the powers of a coiled slug in terms of their ability to enforce a debt. All they can effectively do is to ask for it. Roxburghe are currently being investigated by the Office of Fair Trading and have been told that the OFT is "minded to revoke" their consumer credit act (debt collection) licence and Graham White is simply a front Roxburghe's use to pretend they are solicitors.
In order for anyone's credit record to be damaged then Parking Utilities Ltd would have to issue proceedings (unlikely - the business model is based on bullying people into paying not actually suing them in court), then they'd have to win (even less likely) and then the court ordered amount would have to go unpaid for 28 days. Have a good through other threads here and you'll soon get the picture with regards to PPC tickets. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

By reading this reply from me you agree to pay me as much money as you can every month from your salary. This is a legally binding agreement (with no way of changing your mind once you've read it).
Enforceable? No. Just like your fake parking ticket. It is not a debt, you've not signed any agreement, you've not been shown a detailed list of terms and conditions and it is not a credit agreement which the debt collectors or graham white can even attempt to enforce as a debt. Debt can only be gained via an agreement (eg via a credit agreement) or as a punishment by the state (and punishment is a power that is RESERVED for state use).
So, tell me again, why are you worried about bailiffs?
The only time you'd ever see bailifs is if you actually got taken to court by the company and the odds of that happening are pretty much zilch. There have been one or two cases but we still suspect them of being rigged (eg someone agreeing to be the defendant and loosing the case just to make the company look good) but again this is still a very rare occurence. Even then they would have to obtain a court order (of you failed to pay) to enforce it as a debt, they'd then have to send court bailiffs before the court would consider a CCJ.
The risk of you ever seeing bailiffs is zilch. I've worked for two PPCs and two local authorities. If you get a council PCN then you're a bit stumped but PPC PCNs are not even worth the paper they're printed on. One manager at one of the PPCs openly said to me its easy money because most people don't realise the company have no rights against them and just pay it.
In short, forget about it, go and get on with your life. If they persist, ask them for the credit licence details of the PPC, if they're registered with the FSA and if they can't supply then they shouldn't be pursuing a so called 'debt'.0 -

Yes I do work in the finance industry but in IT, hence not fully aware of all the ins and outs of debt recovery, but still not good to have a bad rating.
I would hold out, but OH is faltering0 -

That cannot happen unless there has been a succesful county court case and the judgement has not been paid within 28 days. The claimant would have to go back to court and get an order that would allow them to seize goods.gilly1964 wrote:I also work in the finance industry so cannot afford to have a bad credit rating against our address.

Yes, this is the right approach.gilly1964 wrote:Roxburghe have called the house a couple of times but wanted to speak to us, not DSS, but we have never been in.

Don't bother speaking to them, other than to tell them the debt is in dispute and not to call you again."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Stand your ground, they are not bailiffs, they are scummy debt collectors, they have no authority to take anything from you.
If they did, it would be theft. simple.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If the OH is faltering let him see this from BBC Watchdog. The video is about MET Parking but the same applies to Parking Utilities and it sums up the legality of the ticket you have.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

I couldn`t care less. Why would you?
If more people lived within their means and stopped spending money that isn`t theirs there`d be none of these stupid credit companies around.
Regarding your OH,tell him/her to grow a pair,or does he/she give bank details to every Tom !!!!!! and Nigerian that tell him/her theres millions of dollars sat waiting,or you`ve won millions in a lottery you never bought a ticket for.
Thank you for your helpful response - I will treat it with the same contempt as a PPC.0 -
There are few things more annoying than wasting money. If you give into the scammers you will always have that feeling that you were conned and that does not make for peace of mind. If your OH is getting worried, tell him to do some serious internet research including going onto Pepipoo and the Consumer Action Group. Make him/her watch the Watchdog video clip again and again. We do not tell people to ignore the scammers because we think it is a good idea or we have heard something on the grapevine. We tell you to ignore PPC scammers because this is something we have all done and nothing nasty has happened to us. Tell the OH to blow the PPC money on a good meal and once the money is spent, the PPC will not get its thieving mitts on it.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Don't just take our words for it, watch these three videos from Watchdog, Ann Robinson explains all together with a legal expert - enjoy
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3164256Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
